Yamakawa’s Apple Orchard
restaurant
山川りんご園
Pick sun-ripened Shinshu apples directly from the orchard, tasting varieties unavailable elsewhere in Nagano.
Yamakawa's Apple Orchard sits in the apple-growing belt around Nagano city, where the combination of warm summers and cool nights produces fruit with balanced sweetness and firm texture. Picking seasons run from late August through November depending on the variety, with Tsugaru, Jonagold, Fuji, and Shinano Gold maturing at different points across the autumn. Visitors walk directly among the trees, pulling ripe fruit from branches within arm's reach, and the orchard provides bags for what you pick to take home. Fresh juice pressed on-site is available during the season. It's a short drive from central Nagano and pairs well with a visit to the nearby Zenkoji area.
