A chain of seven islands connected by bridges, the quieter, car-free alternative to the Shimanami Kaido.

While the Shimanami Kaido draws thousands of cyclists, the Tobishima Kaido chain of islands south of Kure sees almost none. Seven bridges connect the islands, each with empty beaches, mandarin orchards, and fishing villages. The route is shorter (about 30km) and flatter, perfect for a relaxed day trip.
