Tenzan Toji-kyo

Tenzan is a premiere hot spring destination in Hakone, built with traditional joinery and a philosophy centered on 'toji' (hot spring healing). The facility features several outdoor stone and cedar baths, including a high-temperature 'cave' bath and a milky-white alkaline pool. The complex is spread across a lush hillside, allowing bathers to hear the Sukumo River rushing nearby. Unlike many high-end facilities, Tenzan is famous for being tattoo-friendly for individual travelers (though groups with tattoos may be refused to prevent a 'gang' presence). It is a complete retreat experience, featuring high-quality restaurants specializing in tofu and wild boar, and quiet relaxation rooms with tatami flooring.
