太郎坊宮
Tarobogu Shrine sits halfway up Mt. Akagami, reachable by climbing 742 stone steps through a corridor of roughly 150 wooden torii gates. The summit shrine dates to around 600 CE and enshrines the god of victory, drawing visitors who come to pray for success in work, competitions, or daily life. From the top, you get wide views over Higashiomi city and the distant Suzuka Mountains. Eighteenth-century woodblock prints depicted this mountain alongside the giant kite festivals once held in the fields below, a tradition with deep roots in the region.
