The Kenashi Paradise Trail is a roughly three-hour hike on a 5.5-kilometer trail.
This 5.5-kilometer trail takes about three hours and passes through two linked marshlands in the Hakkoda mountains. The upper Kami-Kenashitai and lower Shimo-Kenashitai wetlands are connected by a steep set of steps, and the bird's-eye view of the lower ponds from the top is worth every step, especially from late September into October when the hillsides turn amber and gold. Boardwalks and observation decks frame the major Hakkoda peaks, and on clear days Mt. Iwaki is visible in the distance. Spring brings mizubasho and bogbean blooms; summer adds chinguruma and kinkoka flowers along the path.
