川湯エコミュージアム・センター
The Kawayu Eco-museum Center is a museum and visitor center, centrally located in the Kawayu Onsen area.
This visitor center sits in the heart of the Kawayu Onsen area and introduces Akan-Mashu National Park through well-organized exhibits on local flora, fauna, and Ainu history. Two nature trails start from the building: a 60-minute stroll through Sakhalin spruce and a 2.5-kilometer path to the fuming slopes of Mt. Io. A tour desk provides information on guided nature walks. The second floor has a cafe overlooking the surrounding forest and a hammock space for relaxing. Families appreciate the kids' area with books, toys, and a craft corner using pine cones.
