Hakodate Kosetsuen (Miharashi Park)
park
香雪園 (見晴公園)
Only nationally-designated cultural property garden in Hokkaido.
This Japanese-style garden was built by a wealthy merchant in the Meiji era. It is famous for its autumn colors, where the maple trees are illuminated at night during the 'Momi-G' festival. Unlike the central Goryokaku Park, Kosetsuen feels like a private estate, featuring a traditional greenhouse and a tea house set amidst 150 species of trees.
